Known in China as the Siberian tiger, it has a 3 million year history of evolution. The research suggests that the common ancestor of both tigers probably traveled the Ancient Chinese Silk Road to Central Asia and settled in the Caspian Sea region about 10,000 years ago. One of them crossed Siberia to the Far East to form the Siberian tiger population. It is thought that human activity separated the tigers from the same species in different areas and led them to different evolutionary paths. Such findings have sparked speculation about the reintroduction of tigers in Central Asia. Habitat surveys are also being carried out in the Amu Darya delta and the Ili Delta.
